Our History
The Lebanese Canadian University – LCU was originally founded in 2000 under the name École Supérieure et Internationale de Gestion – ESIG in Aintoura – Kesrouan. In 2007, the institution underwent a strategic transformation and was officially reestablished as the Lebanese Canadian University – LCU, broadening its academic offerings through three core faculties: Business Administration, Arts and Sciences, and Humanities, which continue to operate and expand successfully.
Throughout the years, LCU has demonstrated steady growth and institutional development. The University obtained presidential decrees authorizing the establishment of additional faculties, including the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Education, further enriching its academic structure and reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence. In 2015, LCU expanded its footprint by inaugurating a new campus in Hadat–Beirut, enhancing its accessibility and strengthening its presence within the capital.
LCU has also developed academic cooperation agreements and partnerships with several renowned international institutions, including Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Université de Bordeaux, Université de Sherbrooke, Université Rennes 1, Université Jean Monnet – Saint-Etienne, IPAC, Grenoble École de Management, École Hôtelière de Genève (EHG), and Centre d’Études Diplomatiques et Stratégiques (CEDS). These collaborations reflect the University’s commitment to internationalization and global academic engagement. LCU is proud of its thousands of graduates who have successfully integrated into the workforce and distinguished themselves as competent professionals and leaders across diverse sectors.
